Who permits septic here
Every county has its own rules.
In Texas, septic systems (on-site sewage facilities, or OSSFs) are regulated by TCEQ and permitted locally by authorized agents, usually the county and sometimes a city. Grayson County’s OSSF Division in Sherman permits systems across most of our home county, and its rules are stricter than the state minimum: permits for repairs regardless of tract size, and aerobic treatment on lots under 2.5 acres. Cooke, Fannin and Collin counties set their own requirements.
